How to delete your Betterfly data

Betterfly saves places from Instagram posts to your personal map, including reels you send to @betterfly.ai in a direct message and posts where you tagged @betterfly.ai in a comment.

If you have a Betterfly account

(you opened your map from our Instagram link, or signed in)

  1. Open your map at reels.betterflyai.com. If you came from Instagram, message "MAP" to @betterfly.ai and tap the link we send.
  2. Go to reels.betterflyai.com/delete-account (also reachable from your profile). In the Betterfly app on iPhone or Android, the same option is in your profile, under Delete account.
  3. Confirm. We delete your map, your saved places, your profile, the link to your Instagram account, any places saved under your Instagram username, and the records of your mentions. This cannot be undone.

If you only tagged @betterfly.ai and never opened Betterfly

The records of your mentions are deleted automatically 30 days after your comment. The places saved under your Instagram username are kept, so they are waiting on your map when you message us. To delete them, email zohar@betterflyai.com and include your Instagram username. We confirm by email when it is done, within 30 days.

If you cannot sign in

Email zohar@betterflyai.com from the address you use with Betterfly, or include your Instagram username, and ask us to delete your account. We confirm by email when it is done, within 30 days.

What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted: your account and sign-in, your maps and saved places, the maps you shared, your trip plans, the link to your Instagram account and anything saved under your Instagram username, your notification settings, and your app and website usage records.

Kept: a record that the account was deleted (an internal id and the date), for security and legal reasons. Reels in our shared reel library stay, without any link to you. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are kept by Apple or Google under their own policies, and deleting your account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.

Deleting your comment on Instagram, or removing the tag, does not delete data we already saved. Use one of the options above.
